Méséglise is the road traveled by Marcel Proust in his novel called "In Search of Lost Time", where the author travels intoxicated by the scent of the hawthorn hedges, and that’s when he casually crosses path with the girl who will steal his heart.
But this is a mere literary reference. The artistic production of this band has nothing to do with the monumental work of Marcel Proust.
We simply play little songs, where the word “time” occurs as a refuge, as a regret, as pride and melancholy. We come from different music expreiences and what really connects us is a deep passion for “music crafting”, built without any regard other than personal taste and sensitivity.
We believe that a connection between music and lyrics is a language capable of capturing the listener's attention, and we do hope it is so. We are not interested in any pre-packaged form of pop music, but we have neither the ambition nor the will to introduce ourselves as advocates of any research outside that of the Italian music tradition.
Our songs also reveal the music that we like to listen to, traveling through songwriting, progressive rock, folk, keeping forms that are typical of pop music, though in a quite unusual way.
We have released a 12-tracks album called "L'assenza" through Lizard Records, a label that carries a tradition of great quality, and we feel honored to collaborate with it
